Gridded Designer's Template
Make your own templates and stencils with this 12" x 18" gridded mylar template that will last for years. The grids are marked at 1/8 inch so you have no need to measure, it is all done for you. Use decorative scissors for creating border rulers, or paper punches for more template designs and you can use a pencil to design hand drawn templates. You can cut it with your scissors or use your woodburning tool on low heat. Once it is cut or burn out, you can use a sanding stick to soften the edges for a cleaner cut and then I punch a hole at the top, saving them on binder rings to hang on a hook when not in use.

Masking Tape 3 inch roll x 60 yds.
This hard to find tape is a must have to transfer a free-hand designed pattern, rubberstamping and tracing a stencil pattern to your gourd for the perfect placement. My book "New Gourd Art with Ink Dyes" by Maria Dellos gives step by step information showing this technique. To do this, start with a piece of glass about 8x 11 is suggested, tear off the amount of tape to fit the glass, the next piece of tape is then over-lapped about 1/4 inch over the first piece of tape and so on until you cover the glass. You are now ready to rubberstamp or design on the taped work surface as you wish before adding the tape to your gourd. Score cut around the image with a hobby knife and carefully pull off the tape, be sure to grab where the pieces are over-lapped so they come off together. It is suggested to use your heat tool for a few seconds to dry the ink for rubberstamping. Best ink suggested is Memories Black ink for rubberstamping. Woodburn directly on this tape and when using a professional woodburning tool, remember to keep the temperature dial at 5 or below. There is no smoke or residue from the tape while working on your gourd. If there is a little sticky left behind, wipe it off with a little mineral spirits or goo gone and you are ready to continue.

Walnut Hollow Graphite Tranfer Paper 12"x24"
This is the only transfer paper I use, simply place pattern on top of the graphite paper (coated side down)and tape in place. Use #2 pencil to trace your pattern, this is quality paper so you don't need to apply heavy pressure to trace your image. Test a small pencil mark first to see if your paper is in the correct placement before tracing your pattern, this makes it easy to change before tracing the entire pattern. May be used a few times over.
